Narrative Description of Activities

Even though, the current farming activities are ongoing projects in the selected communities of Gbinle-Dixian-chiefdom, but the most current is working in solidarity with Everybody-Must-farm (EMF) organization in Sierra Leone. The purpose is driven by Training farmers on modern agricultural techniques, micro finance, Micro economics and many more; such as:

• Raising entrepreneurial awareness
• Planning the business
• Basic book keeping
• Managing the business
• Formation of Micro-Saving and Credit croups
• Monitoring & Evaluation
• Selection of group officers and responsibilities

The purpose behind these activities is to educate, strengthen capacity and raise the standard of living. All of these will in one way or the other contribute to poverty reduction and consolidation of peace through training and input support.

The organization’s aim is driven by the vision of fighting against hunger. Its a movement contributing to a sustained improvement of living conditions, stability and health without hunger, Kaddra farm plans to end hunger through by empowering youths, farmers and the back-yards women gardeners in the communities, economic development and responding to emergencies.

Kaddra-Farm's fight against ending hunger focuses on four strategic approaches, which we call as STAY-FOCUS to End Hunger. The organization put the farmers first empowering and promotes their farming activities though by training and introducing now skills of farming activities. Which would encourage the farmers to produce more healthy food for both consumption and also for sale? This will also help the individuals increase their economic incomes.

The stay-focus strategy would help strengthen and uplift the spirit of farmers, by helping them become self-sufficient in food production, introduce hybrids crop productions and high- tech methods of farming, so that they can produce more both food for food consumption and for sale. This would help in the eradication of poverty and hunger now threatening the country. 

Kaddra-Farm Inc. would organize young groups for both male and female to stay-focus with the back-yards gardening for vegetable.

While the ongoing farming activities, Kaddra-Farm Inc. would plan for high-tech storage which would help in the seed security from thief, humidity and also from pest. The storage would also be available for tools security and for Veterinary visits. We are working strongly to partner with groups of local farmers working in solidarity with our mission and to serve 3million people in food security over the 5 years targets. Most of all, we aim to engage as many volunteers as possible and donors annually by 2025.

The organization’s core assets are defined by its administrative/management team. These are the strategic assets that our organization looks into execute its business strategy, satisfy its customer and to get work done. It encompasses the vision, goals and commitment of the company.

These key players have the knowledge, commitment and drive the organization requires becoming a success in the industry.

They have the ability to manage resources effectively which will help meeting customer demands (In gaining competitive). Planning a new directions by aligning with employees, customers and markets (Adapting to Change), and investing in the development of organizational capabilities (Driving business performance).

We develop gradually and expand our impact with our external partners located in Sierra Leone, working in solidarity to nourish lives around the communities, Villages and immediate respond to emergencies, as well as work to strengthen and uplift the spirit of the farmer, tackle issues relating poverty and hunger in the communities.

In the year 2017-2020, the four rural communities (Ro-Mankeneh, Ro-Mankeh, Ro- Kalangba, Ro-Salatoke and One urban community 4-Mile) selected from Gbinle-Dixian chiefdom came alone, a total of 400 poor and advantage women and men, including 7 persons with disabilities were now able to meet the food, medical and education needs of their family members.

Kaddra-Farm Inc. provided local farming tools, fertilizers and seeds for community women and youths undertaking small backyard gardening in the project community villages to facilitate farming activities.

We also organized youths in groups for better farming and more productions. Moreover, we built Water-well and hand- pump device as a means necessary to improve access to safe drinking water. We also built a local toilet facility at Ro-mankeneh community for visitors and women’s dignity.

The organization operates in these three pillars of interest: (a) strengthen and uplift the spirit of farmers, (b) Targeting development programs in the communities and (c) Accountability.

Finally, we hope to expand our operations in this coming year through Food Processing Center.

A facility center that manufactures, packages and stores food for human consumption, provides labels for food sales and food distribution for other commercial business entitles, such as food processing plants (Vegetables, poultry and egg industry).

Although, there is a presence of peace in the country, we will address the problem of illiteracy, public health, and sanitation in Sierra Leone today.

Corruption, poor education system, poor governance, poor management of public funds, etc are some of the reasons why the problems still exist.

Kaddra Farm Inc. strives to combat these issues by restoring resources to reserve the quality of life for the people in Sierra Leone, through farming activities in the Chiefdoms.

In the year 2025, we plan to serve food over 2.5 million people in Sierra Leone. Additionally, Kaddra Farm has a goal to a multiple growth that will increase job training and job creation, in which will expand and increasing our work in the coming years. We also aim to reach 10 million in restoring food security annually, through local production, our community empowerment programs and our partners.
